Doug holds a Master of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry.  He has over ten years experience in the field of Materials Testing, with a specialty in heat-treating and Thermal Spray coatings.  Doug currently serves as co-chairman of the Thermal Spray Society Accepted Practices Committee on Metallography.  In addition, he helped to develop a comprehensive Aerospace Metallography Training Program which has been offered at IMR since the spring of 2005.  Doug is a former Vice-Chairman of the Twin Tiers ASM Chapter.

In his spare time, Doug is pursuing his MBA at Cornell University. He and his wife, Alexis, have a 3-year old daughter, Emelia.
